The Shima family is one of the most elite and historic in the Smoke village. So, Sasuke and Tetsuo are somewhat similar in a way(plz don't kill me Vero!!!!!!!!!!). Anyway, Tetsuo's family is very skilled in the art of genjutsu, Ryu's old family, the Katagana Clan, was skilled in taijutsu. That's why Ryu has no nin, or gen, jutsu skill but he is very good at taijutsu. Tetsuo has very little taijutsu knowledge but he can learn it very fast. Ryu and Tetsuo are polar opposites but they still work together.
